This is 3D scanning result of Đình Tiền Lệ monument (Hoai Duc, Hanoi, Vietnam). Đình Tiền Lệ has become the first large historic monument got preserve and display intact by digitization and interactive 3D technology.
Đình (village hall) is the common houses of a Vietnamese village commune where there are three functions are carried out administrative, religious and cultural.Đình Tiền Lệ has become the first large historic monument got preserve and display intact by digitization and interactive 3D technology.
Digitize monument bring up many benefits in various aspects:
- The whole historic monument will be preserve intact in VR3D space
- The monument manager always has a reference with high accurate in color, size, shape... even when the real monument was damaged or dismantled for restoration work. The deformation, false during restoration can easily be detect and adjust.
- Everyone can visit the 3D monument in a very attractive way at anytime, anywhere.
- Researchers can measure, watch detail, research cross-section without the need to go to the real monument.
- The high-quality 3D copy like this one also is prevention (insurance) for precious cultural heritage, a technical barrier to prevent bad restoration.
- 3D scanning cultural heritage solution also has benefits on other fields like: art, architect, archeology, education...
The technical quality that VR3D did in this monument is unparalleled.
To find out a solution for 3D scanning and handling the very large data in this project (data bigger than few hundred times compare to a normal statue), VR3D team have spent more than 2 years continuosly research, more than 4 months working hard to scan 3D, process data and create the online interactive experience.
(This is the low-quality version to fit with view online, the original data is much higher quality)
